Board Member Bios


Cameron J Turner, CFA

Cameron TurnerCameron has over 25 years of corporate management experience as an executive and advisor. He is the Canadian partner for CDI Global, an international M&A and corporate development consulting firm. He advises domestic and multinational transportation, manufacturing and technology clients on M&A transactions, prospect search and valuations.

Until 1996, Cameron served as Senior Vice-President with Inter-City Products, a leading HVAC producer (now International Comfort Products), Cameron led acquisition, turnaround and divestiture projects at manufacturing and sales operations in the USA and Canada. Prior to ICP, Cameron directed corporate development at ICG, a multi-billion dollar gas utility, propane, manufacturing and oil & gas producer.

Cameron has served national and regional not-for-profit organizations as a board member, chairman and fundraiser. He serves as a director or advisor to private manufacturing and technology firms and has served as a director of a public energy-from-waste company. In 2006, he was appointed by the Government of Canada as a Director of the Toronto Port Authority.

His education includes an MBA from the Ivey Business School (University of Western Ontario), an Honours BA in Economics from the University of British Columbia and a Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.

Paul Shantz

Paul ShantzPaul specializes in commercial real estate law and environmental law. As a member of the Real Estate Group, Paul regularly advises Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP clients on matters ranging from commercial leasing to land sales and acquisitions. He often deals with large, multi-jurisdiction asset sale, purchase and secured transactions, and is an expert on Ontario land transfer tax. As a member of the Environmental Law Group, he manages various environmental issues for clients, including due diligence for environmental liabilities, negotiating contractual provisions relating to environmental issues and supervising environmental assessments.

 

Michael Reginald Sprung, CFA, MBA

Michael Reginald SprungMichael is President of Sprung & Co. Investment Counsel Inc., a boutique investment manager catering to the needs of individuals, trusts, endowments and foundations. He is a contributor to MoneySense Magazine on portfolio strategy and a frequent commentator on BNNTV and CBC Newsworld. He is often quoted by The Financial Post, Bloomberg News and Reuters. A former Chair of Bellwoods Centres for Community Living, he directed the board for an organization that provides assisted living in multiple locations for adults with spinal cord injury. Michael has since joined the Keystone Foundation. He is also a director of the Hearing Foundation of Canada, which raises funds for medical research, education and advocacy on behalf of people with impaired hearing.
